To Grandma Francis Holosko

My grandmother loved yellow roses, she said that they reminded her that it's wasn't cold outside anymore. She lived in Drumheller, Alberta in a mining town and it was freezing in winter.  For most of her life all she had was a wood stove to keep warm.
Her husband was a coal miner and she was one of the first women to work for the Hudson bay Company... a  feminist before her time!
When she passed she gave me a Hudson Bay blanket so that I would stay warm. These roses remind me of her!

And my great  Grandma!
