Why Facebook Can't be Fixed

Don't let the baby face fool you. Mr. Zuckerberg is shrewd, savvy and blessed with the most dramatic and optimistic vision for the future of human communication this century.  I do not believe that Zuckerberg can fix the problems that surround his platform. He created a monster. The platform has been evolved into a learning A. I. system that learns and changes and has integrated itself into every Facebook account on the planet.  In cyber world the philosophical manifest is:  What is done cannot be undone. This applies to Facebook.

First let me give a brief rundown on how this works. You are in line at the Grocery store and to kill some time you check out The National Enquirer. The FAKE NEWS headline reads, "Michelle Obama is secretly buying arms while having an affair with Putin.”  It’s Bull, yet you cannot help reaching out, picking up the magazine and flipping through to the headline story. And, if you’re feeling lucky you might just buy it.  (This is my guilty pleasure I am a lifetime reader although I find $4.99 a bit steep but I don't care).

Facebook works the same way. When Zuckerberg made the decision to take the company public (not the best move) he involved investors and investors care only about money and the goal became to figure out a way to monetize the platform.  Facebook had to find a way to quantify how many people clicked on an ad to attract advertising dollars, so the system was re programmed to do that. It’s called CLICK BAIT

The Facebook “Team” then took on the role of driving users to ads. That would be fine if this was being run by thinking humans who can disseminate fact from fiction, but it is not. It is being run by an A.I. system with learning ability. And what did the system learn? It learned that people clicked on the most outrageous unbelievable stories more than news facts.

Then the A.I. deduced that if it sent people to the Fake news stories they could show the advertisers bigger numbers, which would attract more money, and everyone would be happy. More. More. More. And they were.

A.I. does not care if a story is Fake or Real it can only read the story and so the FAKE news stories took center stage and combined with the built-in credibility of Facebook and the trust aura of Mark people began to believe what was FAKE as TRUE.

The problem now is that A.I. melded with the original program over taking it readjusting and evolving into something new.  Because of this I don't believe that Mark has any ability to alter the program. Period.  It’s like trying to fix the “too-much-salt” you added to a stew. Your attempts only make the entire thing worse.

In Facebook’s case there is a “pick-up sticks effect.” If one thing is removed the entire platform collapses if one thing is added the systems evolution is unpredictable as we just experienced.  The only way to stop this is to shut the entire system down or have everyone sign out at the exact same time crash the motherboard and re-program the entire thing. At that point you might as well make a funeral for Facebook and come up with a different company. But “The Investors” will not allow that to happen and so we are set on a precarious and dangerous course, so a few people can make a couple bucks.

The goal of Companies like Facebook and Google and every app on your phone is to function independently from humans. To do this an A.I. system must be integrated. These systems are growing in leaps and bounds without any ethical checks. It is not a good idea to give “boys” lots of money and ask them to make things and turn your back. The mindset is about challenge not consequences and so the challenge of A.I developers is to create them to think like humans. It’s not as far off as you would believe… and it’s messing us up.

ASIDE: Please learn cyber lingo. When Zuckerberg says I am getting back to “My Team,” chances are he is referring to a computer system and not people.

The Senate should have asked to be introduced to  “The Team."

Zuckerberg has repeatedly apologized for the Cambridge Analytica scandal, while blaming the information-sharing on a "Researcher" who, according to Facebook, violated the platform's terms of service.

When cyber people use the word “Researcher,” they are also referring to a computer system.

There are other words, like Founder, Staff, Inventor basically titles which we all wrongly assume in the cyber world context are associated with people. So, the next time a “Team” reaches out to answer your question and sends you a smiley face know you are not communicating with a human and don't call the founder because they don't exist in human form either.

Happy Birthday Jane Goodall

Today is my hero's birthday! I remember the day I sat in the auditorium at Carleton University in 1984 watching a  movie about Jane Goodall. I was blown over by her kick- ass courage, vision, love and respect for her great beast Chimp friends.I wanted to be her but unfortunately there were no studies offered in the field of conservation at my university at that time and so I did the next best thing....promoted, talked about and served in what ever capacity I could/can to keep her work alive!

I was honored to meet her at the United Nations.

My father and I were big  lovers of National Geographic magazine, watched  Wild Wild World of Animals and visited the zoo together once a year till I was 25 years old.  It is because of my father that  I love animals and nature and since  those things surround me his memory and spirit do as well. I am never alone.

Many Blessings Jane.

Had it not been for you the Chimps would be extinct and we would have never noticed. AND..on your own coin.

84 years old April 3rd!!!!!

Please visit janegoodall.org and give what you can.

Also check out Savethechimps.org.

This is an organization that rescues chimps from animal experiment  labs where some have been kept in 4x5 concrete prisons for decades. Because of Dr. Carole C. Noon, they are brought to an island in Florida for a dignified retirement.

Love u Jane!!!! What a profound path you have cut.

Trump Insider Trading?

Question.

When Trump targets a company verbally like Amazon which forces the stock down do his buddies cash in?

Is this insider trading?

Many people do not know that you can bet that a stock will go down. It's called a Put and a Call. Brookers make more money identifying stocks that will fall.

It's easier to spot a losser then a winner.

Someone is making billions on Trumps words.

My Aunt Stella turns 97 today!!! Happy B Day!

My Aunt Stella turned 97 years old today. She was a feminist and way before her time!

As a young girl living in the small coal mining town of Drumheller Canada she was recognized by California State University as gifted in the field of science. That was around the late 1940s!  They gave her a full scholarship.

She was one of  the only women studying in the department at the time!

I visited her in Pacific Palisades where she taught in the Public School system for over 40 years.

For her birthday as a surprise I went to visit her, and she looked awesome. She has no words of wisdom, maybe that's wisdom enough! And ...she loves me very much!

Happy BIRTHDAY Aunt Stella!!
I love you MORE!💜

To Grandma Francis Holosko

My grandmother loved yellow roses, she said that they reminded her that it's wasn't cold outside anymore. She lived in Drumheller, Alberta in a mining town and it was freezing in winter.  For most of her life all she had was a wood stove to keep warm.
Her husband was a coal miner and she was one of the first women to work for the Hudson bay Company... a  feminist before her time!
When she passed she gave me a Hudson Bay blanket so that I would stay warm. These roses remind me of her!

And my great  Grandma!

White Rhino Sudan EXTINCT forever

This glorious animal a white Rhino named Sudan has died...the last of its species. Extinct. Gone. Forever.

He was heavily guarded all his life because big game hunters wanted him as a trophy and what a score that would have been. But now that Trump has reversed a hard won  law that said you cannot bring big game trophies into the country  American Hunters CAN now bring back their heads.

I'm sure his son Trump Jr. will be bidding on  Sudans' head.  I  wonder how many millions of dollars that the now dead Sudans' head will get?  I wonder what will be done with the body and I wonder what government could turn down the millions that will be offered for the carcass. I'm sure the international black market auction has begun.

What is psychologically wrong with these hunters? Are they even human?  Let's pray for their extinction.

The world's last surviving male northern white rhino has died after months of poor health, his care givers said.Sudan, 45, lived at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya. He was put to sleep on Monday after age-related complications worsened significantly.
His death leaves only two females - his daughter and granddaughter - of the subspecies alive in the world.Hope for preserving the northern white rhino now lies in developing in vitro fertilization (IVF) techniques.

Prayer for Sudan,

We pray that on your journey you will be  united with those of your tribe who have died mercilessly  by man's  hand.

Killing is our nature and soon there will be nothing left on the earth to kill except ourselves.

Great beast we bow to you.
Magnificent beast we offer you the stupid word sorry in shame and horror because we are all part of a spiders Web that cannot exist without one another and with your death a string has been broken that can never be repaired.

We are less without you and by  killing you we have killed a part of ourselves.

Be confident that once all animals great and small have been eaten and great beasts like you  hunted because some human ass thought your horn could give him a hard on, we will turn on our own and know the sin of extinction.

God must struggle to forgive us (if he can,) but you have nothing to be forgiven for YOU great beast have been a celebration of God's love.

Blessings,

Sudan

Democracy to Dictator

Why is it so hard to believe that in order for a Dictator to come to power all the cabinet seats must be vacated so that the dictator can full those positions himself...and make all the decisions.

Why is it so hard to believe that this is happening?

Fun Fact it's easy to change the world!

Did you know that we have 86 billion neurons in our brain which puts the charge inside our heads at 6 billion voltes?

That's like having 477,777,777 car batteries in your noggin at once.

No shit!

So smoke all the pot you want. You've got plenty neurons to spare.

We are A I and we can change the world!!!

Trump says its Ok to Hunt Elephants

THIS CANNOT HAPPEN. PLEASE HELP

Is anything sacred for president Trump besides money?

If anything say a prayer.

Please God do not let this happen. All your creatures are in our hands do not let harm come to them because of us. Give us the wisdom and love and respect to protect them.

The Trump administration just broke its promise to keep the African elephant trophy hunt ban in place.

On Thursday, the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) quietly issued a memo withdrawing the 2017 Endangered Species Act findings for trophies, from Zimbabwe and Zambia, “effective immediately.” The FWS will now consider permits on a “case-by-case” basis.

The new import guidelines are not public, and it will be months before Freedom of Information requests can identify the definition of “case-by-case.” In the meantime, big game hunting permits will be approved, and an unknown number of African elephants will be killed.

President Trump made a promise to Americans and the global conservation community to protect threatened African elephants. The administration needs to stand by that commitment and officially reverse the FWS decision.

CALL TO ACTION

CALL OR EMAIL:

Ask Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke to uphold the President’s promise to protect elephants by maintaining the ban on trophies from Zimbabwe and Zambia.

USA Invaded? Da

Have we been invaded? Is it already too late? Is Putin President?

First the elections now the White House.
When a Dictator begins to rise to power the first thing that he or she does is to get rid of all people in the cabinet!

If the positions are empty the dictator has to  make all the decisions. That's the definition...complete power.

Also...the Russians rule the stock market.

Gun Control: My Take

Gun Control: My Take

The Second Amendment rules, the gun lobby is strong, and our politicians can’t afford to lose the money. On the other hand, guns are killing our children because Killers are using guns.

Here’s my take. I liken the purchase of a gun to  that of a car. My humble suggestion will not only create jobs, but will keep the gun manufacturers and dealers happy while ensuring that money keeps rolling in for the government.

My option MAY maximize the safety of our children and of ourselves.

And you ask: “Hey Kay ! In all your infinite wisdom and think tank genius what’s up?”

And I say: “Check this out!”

 Ready?

If you want to purchase a gun you’ve got to get a license, right? How come that license doesn’t require the same training and education classes as if you are getting a car permit? I think it should.

Here’s how I see it working:

If a person goes to purchase a gun they get their regular background check, right? But I would like to take that one step further. Once the gun is purchased, it is shipped to a local shooting range where the person will have to be trained and educated about guns and gun violence. Then, like a car license they will take a written and practical test at a DMV like place before they can bring the gun home. I cannot guarantee that this will end gun violence but it will certainly curb it considerably and at the same time protect the Second Amendment.

The Discussion continues....

Coffee and a Diaper Please!

Coffee and a Diaper Please!

I do not drink coffee. I have always likened coffee shops to the Opium dens in London during the 1800's that existed on every street corner.

And even though some of you might consider this to be an extreme  analogy I have personally witnessed terribly addicted friends who cannot function without coffee have headaches and freak out emotionally if the extra shot is not forthcoming.

I have also found studies that support my suspicions and suggest that drinking coffee  is responsible for bladder leakage, and I think that's why Adult Diaper companies like Depends are seeing dramatic increases in the sales of their product.

According to Forbes magazine:
Adult Diapers are gaining popularity. Big time! I suggest we consider that the increase may  be        linked to coffee consumption.

In  five years ending in 2020, sales are expected to grow by almost 50%. At that pace, Bloomberg reports that adult diapers—products aimed not at seniors or babies, but mostly at middle-aged women—could overtake the baby diaper market in a decade.

And you ask. “Hey Kay, what’s your theory.

 Are you ready?

1. I believe that coffee irritates the bladder and this irritation causes leakage.

 2.  Dr. Karl Gruber from a university in Austria published in a study done in March/2015 linking coffee to bladder cancer.

 3. Medical News Today also links coffee to bladder leakage in men.

 4. On the flip side, Scientific America says that coffee reduced the risk of bladder cancer.

Don’t you love the Internet? What every you want to believe there’s a fact for that!

QUESTION: Which one is fake news?

I guess it boils down to what you WANT to believe, and I believe that adult diapers and  coffee consumption are linked. Which one do you choose?

I was prompted to write this article (because I don't get paid) when just this morning I came across something on Goggle News/CNN that was right up my alley. Some Scientists have also linked coffee to bladder cancer and it's being taken seriously in the US.

(How many chimps were tortured by coffee being poured down their throats for how many years until they got cancer? Probably hundreds. May I suggest you take that guilt and channel it by making a small donation to Save the Chimps.org).

On the other hand, the Lyon based IARC concluded that there was inadequate evidence to suggest that coffee might cause cancer.

Despite that discrepancy,  California coffee shops may have to put a warning label on their cups or visible signs on the counter. Yeah! The Rainforests can be saved!

Roasting coffee beans creates acrylamide, a chemical linked to cancer in rodents. A California judge will soon decide if California coffee shops will be forced to warn customers about a possible cancer risk linked to their morning jolt of java. (CNN). They will have to either post it on their cups, like cigarettes or have a visible sign on the counter.  Wait! Didn't  the tobacco companies have a similar experience?

A lawsuit first filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court in 2010 by the nonprofit Council for Education and Research on Toxins targets several companies that make or sell coffee, including Starbucks, 7-Eleven and BP. The suit alleges that the defendants "failed to provide clear and reasonable warning" that drinking coffee could expose people to acrylamide.

So, grab a box of  Adult Diapers with your next triple shot latte extreme and enjoy!

Thanks for reading,

K

ICE arrests Professor WHY? NOT?

Professor DEPORTED.

There are 8,000 DACA who are school teachers. Please do not arrest them in front of their students and put them into  buses and trains and cargo planes while they wait in line with 700,000 more DACA people hungry and thirsty, bladders full, and dirty waiting to get on trains, buses and cargo planes to be shipped out of the country according to country of origin.

How long do you figure it would take to deport 700,000 people? Do we round them up in the same week and take them to a central depot? Or...do we encourage voluntary deportations?

What are the logistics of that?

STOP this Madness before we repeat the crimes of WW2 here in America.

It is happening.

"They came for my neighbor I did nothing. They came for my friend I did nothing. And when they came for me there was no one left to help."

On a recent Wednesday morning, Syed Ahmed Jamal was getting ready to take his daughter to school when he was stopped outside his home in Lawrence, Kansas.

Officials from Immigration and Customs Enforcement were on his front lawn. Before Jamal, 55, could say goodbye to his wife and three children, the ICE agents detained him and led him away in handcuffs.

The arrest of a "beloved Lawrence family man, scientist and community leader" came as a shock to Jamal's friends and neighbors in the Kansas City area, where he has lived since arriving in the United States on a student visa from Bangladesh more than 30 years ago. He would go on to also attain graduate degrees in molecular biosciences and pharmaceutical engineering, then settle in Lawrence to raise a family.

Along the way, he switched from student visas to an H-1B visa for highly skilled workers, then back to a student visa when he enrolled in a doctoral program, his family said. At the time of his arrest, Jamal was on a temporary work permit, teaching chemistry as an adjunct professor at Park University in Kansas City and conducting research at various local hospitals.

Train Wreck, GOP, Civil War

A  couple of hours ago,Wed. Jan. 31/18 , a Garbage Truck smashed into a train carrying GOP member of Congress to a retreat in Virginia.

I have made this prediction in the past and I now believe that this "accident"  is the beginning of a Civil War.

Right now I am watching this from a very cold place in Windsor Ontario and it makes me shiver.

Helen Archer Cosmic Astrologer

Helen Archer is one my first guest writers.

I met Helen while trolling Craig's List looking for a cockatiel  to adopt and she had an ad selling bird cages. I figured that I'd buy the cage before the bird so  I emailed Helen. She told me she had a lovely senior Conure Parrot who needed a home.

You see, Helen has  met the man of her dreams and is heading out for adventure and love. Luckily   I am big on Senior Critters and agreed to take Buttie. I am getting her tomorrow. Jazzed.

As it turns out Helen is an amazing Cosmic Astrologer and did an awesome intuitive reading for me that will help guide me in a positive and loving way. She's good!

Organically evolving KISMET is rare and so I asked Helen to write something for me.
There is a big deal astrology thing happening tomorrow so pay attention. These things affect us all.

The Aquarian Full Moon on Wednesday, January 31st is a Blue Moon, second of the month, Supermoon, close to earth, and a Total Lunar Eclipse.  This brings to opposition the Leo eclipse that was seen in August.  Storms are likely, but we may break the six month cycle of massive storms every New and Full Moon.   A week before and after the eclipse is not a good time to make major changes. All the facts are not clearly evident, and results could be opposite of what is expected. Doors will open for new opportunities later in the month of Febrary.  Connect with friends instead.

The Time will Soon be Here

The time will soon be here when my grandchild will long for the cry of a loon, the flash of a salmon, the whisper of spruce needles, or the screech of an eagle.

But he will not make friends with any of these creatures and when his heart aches with longing, he will curse me.

Have I done all to keep the air fresh?

Have I cared enough about the water?

Have I left the eagle to soar in freedom?

Have I done everything I could to earn my grandchild's fondness?

South Florida Fair Go. See. Do.

The sign says it all, except the Greatest Carnival on the Planet is actually The South Florida Fair located at 9067 Southern Blvd, West Palm Beach Florida. The Fair will be running from Jan 12-28. I recommend you plan a couple of visits and bring cash. There are ATM machines in the Park.

I had an Uber cool time! You will too! I suggest you pick up a program  where you’ll find the times and locations for all kinds of activities from Native American Dancers, Goat shows, Chicken competitions, horse shows, live music and concerts galore.

My thing is Agriculture, so I put on my old blue jeans and headed over to the Fair. I parked next to Yesteryear Village which I had to walk through to get to my destination.  I thought I was going to take  a quick stroll but Yesteryear Village, as it turns out, is a fantastically staged village from the 1800’s to 1940's; an educational  and entertaining antique paradise for kids and adults. If I had planned better I would have been able to experience the Blacksmith corner, print making, dancers, competitions and tons of other stuff.

Your first mission is to catch up on what I missed!

The volunteers are wonderful and helpful. They are crucial to the success of the park. Below is John in front of a 1900s staged house complete with beds with rickety steel headboards an original icebox, wood stove and a modest bathroom and see a lovely pioneer woman on a real ranch horse.

I hate to break it to you but if you have used the telephone below you are now officially an antique.

I also found a very interesting doll from the late 1940’s in the Telephone Museum. What struck me was that she was working as a switchboard operator. Historically, women were encouraged into the workforce because the men were at war, but as time went on women became full time homemakers, Barbie came along  and women turned to the full time career of preserving  perky breasts and tight butts. One step forward two steps back.

There are lots of places to picnic in the Village! But I warn you the food is crazy good.

(See Below) Bacon wrapped chicken sticks, thick cut bacon on a stick, a stick of a bacon in a Corn Dog.  Bacon on three sticks.  Sticks of bacon wrapped around more sticks! A Bacon Lovers Dream.
The sandwich that I brought, to save a bit of money did not work out.

You can also Try the Swamp Plate, some Bison, Brisket Melt, or Deep Fried Extreme Tenderloin.

I have never seen this before on any cooking show or in any cook book. Ever. Deep Fried Watermelon? I know you want to try some and I think this is the only place on earth where you can get it.  Just another reason to go to the fair.  Let me know what you think? Unfortunately, I ate that sandwich that I brought from home before I saw the sign!

I hit the Bird Fanciers show. Yep that’s right. Think dog show but for chickens. On one side of the building are the rabbits and they sell treats for the kids.  On the right are not just any barnyard chickens but ones with exotic plumage and colors. These are all Prize-winning birds. Best in their class! Turkey’s too!  Here are the ladies you need to meet.  They are part of the The Palm Beach County Poultry Fanciers Club. You don’t have to own a chicken to join and it’s only $20.00 a year for a family! The kids will love it!

 (See Below)
Karen Plant, Inger Lewis Treasurer, and Lori Reed.

Isn't he a magnificent Turkey?  Look at the Navy gloss on his feathers. The stripped tail! First Prize Winner!

She? He? "I'm a lover not a fighter!"
Vegetarian anyone?  It's never to late.

As you exit Agriculture you will find tractor trailors to the right- every little boy’s fantasy. Once he’s jazzed take him to the Monster Truck Ride.

To the right is a pioneer wooden rifle range. I like to shoot inanimate objects and with the help of one of the staff I got quite good. What I didn’t realize was how heavy these rifles are.  Pioneers were Kick Ass. Who needs a gym? Just go out into the wilderness, shoot 20 rounds, build your own house, grow your own food, have a couple of kids, shoe your horses get a reading education and see how much weight you lose?  Ummmm Isn’t there a Reality Show for that?

I also competed in a balloon race with a couple of kids that cleaned my clock. But I made up for it at Balloon Darts hitting two out of three and winning a stuffed frog which currently sits on my dashboard. The game show guys are generous about giving a prize, so your little ones will not be disappointed! However, you will end up spending 5 to 10 bucks to win a stuffed animal that you can get at the dollar store but you've gotta admit there is something about winning that makes a memory.

If you want to be a hero This is your Mission...if you choose to accept. (see below)

Take the Gondola so you can check out the park!
                                                                    Big Green Slide

See the Haunted House in the back? What would a fair be without a haunted house?...and a Ferris wheel. Which I will never go on because heights freak me out!

If you've got little ones you can a buy day pass for the rides!

I also visited the petting zoo, with cows a lama, sheep and goats. As you know I’m a big animal rights activist, so I had to inspect, and I believe it’s safe to say that the animals looked well taken care of and enjoyed the attention. The ponies seemed a bit tired…

You can buy treats for the animals at the entrance.

Please don't eat me!

  Double Trouble!

The staff will answer any questions you may have to do with Animal Care so ask away. They  hail from a company in Missouri called See-me--Safari, a 4th  generation family business run by Jay Phillips who was happy to speak to me on the phone.
Six hours  later I was toast.

As I was wandering back through Yesteryear Village to get to the parking lot I spied a food vendor. What kind of fair would this be without a Corn Dog?  I ordered one expecting a frozen reheated treat but what I got was a homemade batter dipped deep fried in fresh oil Best Corn Dog experience EVER.  Next time no sandwich for me. Ribbon fries and Corn Dogs for all!

That's a Fair! The Greatest Fair on the Planet!
Go. See. Do!
