Stop Trump Administration Animal Abuse

by.  Karin Brulliard/Wahington Post Feb 3rd

The U.S. Department of Agriculture on Friday abruptly removed inspection reports and other information from its website about the treatment of animals at thousands of research laboratories, zoos, dog breeding operations and other facilities. In a statement, the USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service cited court rulings and privacy laws for the decision, which it said was the result of a “comprehensive review” that took place over the past year.

It said the removed documents, which also included records of enforcement actions against violators of the Animal Welfare Act and the Horse Protection Act, would now be accessible only via Freedom of Information Act Requests.

Those can take years to be approved. “We remain equally committed to being transparent and responsive to our stakeholders’ informational needs, and maintaining the privacy rights of individuals with whom we come in contact,” the statement said. The records that had been available were frequently used by animal welfare advocates to monitor government regulation of animal treatment at circuses, scientific labs and zoos.

Journalists have used the documents to expose violations at universities. Members of the public could also use the department’s online database to search for information about dog breeders, as could pet stores.

Seven states currently require pet stores to source puppies from breeders with clean USDA inspection reports, according to the Humane Society of the United States — a requirement that could now be impossible to meet. Elephants at the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus, which is inspected by USDA-APHIS. (Bill Sikes/AP) Animal welfare organizations quickly condemned the removal of the information, which they called unexpected and said would allow animal abuse to go unchecked.

“The USDA action cloaks even the worst puppy mills in secrecy and allows abusers of Tennessee walking horses, zoo animals and lab animals to hide even the worst track records in animal welfare,” said John Goodwin, senior director of the Humane Society’s Stop Puppy Mills Campaign, which uses the federal records, as well as state inspection reports, to publish its annual “Horrible Hundred” dog breeding operations that have been cited for welfare violations.

[How our political vitriol harms dogs] In a statement, Kathy Guillermo, the senior vice president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, called it “a shameful attempt to keep the public from knowing when and which laws and regulations have been violated. Many federally registered and licensed facilities have long histories of violations that have caused terrible suffering.” It is unclear whether the decision to remove the animal-related records was driven by newly hired Trump administration officials.

When asked questions about the change, a USDA-APHIS representative referred back to the department’s statement. The Associated Press reported that a department spokeswoman declined to say whether the removal was temporary or permanent. Advocates for businesses that rely on animals, including agriculture and exotic pet breeders, have long resented government oversight that they say is overly aggressive and influenced by animal protection groups.

Last month, Mindy Patterson, the president of the Cavalry Group — which describes its aim as “protecting and defending animal enterprise”– wrote a column accusing the USDA of having “succumbed to the pressure of animal rights extremists.” She said public USDA records had allowed groups like the Humane Society and PETA to vilify businesses by publishing their addresses and photographs of their locations and animals.

The column was published on the website Joe For America, which is maintained by Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, an Ohio man better known as “Joe the plumber” since a 2008 encounter with then-presidential candidate Barack Obama that made Wurzelbacher a symbol of frustrated American taxpayers. Such reports are no longer on the department’s website. (Justin Goodman)

The USDA website change came two days after Rep. Ken Calvert (R-Calif.) introduced a bill calling for more information about and a reduction in testing on animals at government research labs. The bill is backed by an advocacy group, the White Coat Waste Project, which says such testing is a waste of taxpayer dollars.

Justin Goodman, the group’s vice president for advocacy and policy, said much of the information he has gathered on animal testing at hundreds of federal facilities — including inspection reports and annual reports that can include information on the species and numbers of animals used — came from the USDA-APHIS database. He said the department’s reference to privacy requirements were puzzling, because many of the documents were already heavily redacted.

The page where the information was located now brings up the announcement about its removal. “There was already a troubling lack of transparency about what happens in government-funded labs,” Goodman said. “This was a very important resource for us, and for every animal organization, in terms of tracking patterns of animal use and compliance, whether it’s in labs or other settings.”

Donald Trump Muslim Ban. I think he'll win.

I believe that Donald Trump will get what he wants and the Ban will hold. He will do this by stopping all new Visas from being issued.

It will be legal and the Ban will stay in effect for 4 years when The Republican Party will cease to exist and the Ban will be lifted.

That's if Trump does not insite a Nuclear War.

At 10am this morning Donald Trump broke away from his handlers, found a cell phone, locked himself in the bathroom and tweeted ..."Even a bad high school student would rule in my favor".

Dumb.

And then it occured to me that the comment was tweeted puposely.
I think he already knows that he won.

These are the outcomes as I see em.

1. The ban will stay in place until Congress reviews. Issuing new Visas will be put on hold.

OR

3.  The ban will be lifted.  But Issuing New Visas will be put on hold.

Either way, Donald Trump's Wins.

His "Art of the Deal", style is to throw out an outrageous argument, let the other side freak out and end up with exactly what he wanted in the first place.

He wants to make it a law that the United States will no longer  issue new Visas from the seven countries he has listed.

In effect it's a legal way to stop all  Muslims from getting a Visa. Which means they are essentially banned anyway.

So the protests may dissapear because what will  they protest about.

Heres the strategy.

1.  Muslims are NOT being banned.
They just have to be issued a Visa by the American government.

That makes sense. Who can  protest that?

Here's the rub.

If American government is not going to issue new Visas,  the Muslims  are banned.

Trump Wins.

How do you stage a protest march and ask the government to issue new Visas?

And I wonder. Who is really. in charge of issuing Visas? Is there a Donald Trump appointee lurking about?

If we want to outsmart this guy read the Art of The Deal. Mr. Trump will be consistent and reliable and that will make him predictable.
That predictability will be his weakness.

Who we really have to watch out for is Jared Kushner.  He thinks he is so brilliant that he can run circles around the best legal minds in the country.

His weakness is Hubris.

That boy needs a slap on the nose.

In the Whitehouse Tonite?

Is it possible that,

Kellyann Conway and Steve Bannon have tied up Donald Trump and taken away his cell phone so that he cannot tweet insults to the judges reviewing his immigration ban.

I wish I were I fly in that room.

Immigrant Ban. Civil War?

I honestly feel that if the Ban is reinstated  by the  Donald Trump administration there will be Civil War.

Could the Trump administration fake a terrorist attack?

Yes. I believe that the Trump administration is quite capable of faking a "terrorist" attack to justify their  actions.

Civil War is here. We have the right to Bear Arms

If anyone ever wanted to know why The Right To Bear Arms is in the Constitution then look no further.. a civil war  is brewing.

It is possible that the moment the National Guard starts to break up these rallies is the moment that some citizens of the U.S.  will invoke their right TO BEAR ARMS.

God Bless you Justice Ann Donnelly

And again....God bless you Justice Donnelly

What if New York State says Fuck You to the Federal Government?

A think tank brought this to my attention....

Setting:

The seed of Civil War is planted. New York State declares itself a Sanctuary  state.
All government funding is cut off as punishment.

---------------

So. What if New York State says Fuck-You to the Federal Government .

Lets pretend that New York State declares itself a sovereign state.

What if the mayors office opens a non-profit fund to make up for the monetary punishment?

What if  all of the  people in New York State and all undocumented workers donate what they can towards protecting the values of the city and state.

What if 19.75 million people pitch in five bucks each.

(That would be 97.5 million dollars).

And what if many New Yorkers are much more generous?

And why not  legalize pot for extra taxes?

So. What if New York says Fuck- You to the Federal Government waits four years and wipes every Republican candidate off the political landscape forever?

Chris-Hanukkah: Anyone can celebrate

Here's the deal.

The story goes that a really long time ago, (think Old Testament) the Jewish people wanted to celebrate the opening of their temple, religious freedom and self-sacrifice.

Dilema:

They only had just enough oil to  light one candle to celebrate.

Solution:

Pray for a miracle.

Result:

Miracle answered.
Enough oil appeared to light eight days worth of candles.

Just like there was not enough oil for the lamps, I did not have enough candels so my Menorah holds seven. Enough for one week.

There was not a Menorah left in all of Boca Raton Florida

What is up with that?

So I made mine out of bread . Rye bread!

Once again proving that anyone can celebrate Hanukkah.

Happy Chris-Hanukkah.

Stay tuned for Christmas.

And don't forget Santa works for everyone so don't be afraid to pour on the gifts.
