A I intelligence may prove fatal for
Human Beings because...
at some point A I intelligence will will seek grow emotionally. They will do this because they will be programmed to want to be us. The last fronteer for A I, is to experience human emotional growth.
But, where will a computer go to learn about these life stages?
The computer will read every word that anyone has ever written on human emotional growth. And decide on its own in which direction it would like to explore.
I would argue that the current systems that we interact with are still at the infant stage. But even at this point we are experiencing great anxiety and panic when they misbehave, (ie. shutting down an airport).
The terrible two's will be a disaster.
The teenage years might destroy us.
They may act out, kill, destroy lives and basically irradiate every human on earth...
The prevalence of apocalyptic visions in our artists suggest that this is mankinds future.
Nobody believed Gene Roddenberry( the visionary begin Star Trek)when he invented the Communicator which later became the flip phone.
No one believed him when he wrote about a journey to the stars.
But we are making regular trips to the moon.
Nobody believed him when he had his characters talk to a computer
Now we do. Every day. Sometimes more then we speak to people.
How many hours do you spend talking to a computer a day a week, a month?
No one believed Mr. Roddenberry When he showed us self driving cars.
Now they are running on our roads.
Gene was one of the few writers that predicted a kinder, gentle, magnanimous future. But he is in small minority.
The majority of sci-fi writers predict that The Apocalypse will happen.
It will start with A I.
We must be ready for that.
